In December 2024, ESG News reported the European Union extended compliance with it’s new deforestation law by one year until December 2025 for large companies and June 2026 for small and micro businesses.

The regulation requires companies to demonstrate that products like beef, soy, palm oil, coffee, and cocoa are sourced from supply chains free of deforestation.
